Paris, 20 May 2026 – CS Group – Sopra Steria has been awarded the contract to provide counter-drone protection for NATO's headquarters and the residence of its Secretary General in Brussels, following a highly competitive international tender. The decision marks a significant recognition for BOREADES, a benchmark solution in the counter-drone field, and for CS Group – Sopra Steria.

Following a rigorous selection process that pitted the company against several dozen European and international manufacturers – and culminated in simultaneous live trials on site – BOREADES won NATO over with its performance, robustness and ability to operate in complex environments.

Under the terms of the contract, two BOREADES systems will be deployed at the Alliance's site to ensure end-to-end protection of these facilities.

BOREADES: ten years of expertise protecting sensitive sites and major events

A pioneer of counter-drone technology in France, CS Group – Sopra Steria has been developing BOREADES for more than ten years, investing and innovating continuously to stay ahead of an evolving drone threat, including swarm attacks. Designed to meet the most demanding requirements for protecting sensitive sites in both fixed and mobile configurations, BOREADES is built on a modular, interoperable and scalable architecture that adapts to a wide range of environments and threat levels.

Already operational across numerous sites in France and abroad, with more than 50 systems in service and close to a hundred in production, BOREADES is today one of the leading solutions in its field. It has also been deployed to secure major public events, including the 14 July parade in Paris and the major sporting events happening in France in 2024.

BOREADES detects, classifies, identifies and neutralises drone threats. NATO's confidence in the solution validates both its technological maturity and CS Group – Sopra Steria's ability to integrate and operate high-stakes security systems in some of the most demanding institutional settings.

Pierre Lopez, Chief Executive Officer of CS Group – Sopra Steria, commented: "Protecting NATO's headquarters means protecting one of the nerve centres of European security. This contract confirms our role at the heart of the continent's defence challenges and our ability to operate the critical systems that underpin its sovereignty."
