Sopra Steria and FIDAMC join forces to address the challenges of the aerospace sector

| minute read

The expectations in terms of aerospace production have increased steadily in recent years, driven in particular by the exponential growth of air traffic. To accelerate plant productivity, the transition to industry 4.0 appears to be the most effective solution today. The integration of new digital and material technologies therefore seems essential to propose a new organization and develop new ways of production.

Through its Aeroline vertical and its subsidiary CIMPA, Sopra Steria has decided to collaborate with FIDAMC to contribute to the digitalisation of its installations and thus turn them into a reference in the industry 4.0 in order to meet these new challenges. Sopra Steria will also set up a digital center of excellence to enable the main players in the sector to project themselves, meet tomorrow's challenges and create value for projects related to digital transformation. As a place for exchange and sharing, it will make it possible to work in a "desiloted" way to anticipate, highlight and co-construct the most appropriate answers to the challenges of a sector in the midst of a transformation.

"Sopra Steria will set up a state-of-the-art digital technology infrastructure and build relevant PoCs for customers, which will then be ready for deployment in real industrial environments. The FIDAMC Centre of Excellence will allow companies to apply industry 4.0 criteria to the main challenges encountered, but also to test technologies, products and even services within the facility itself. Thanks to a collaborative approach, FIDAMC teams, trained by Sopra Steria experts, will be able to develop, test and analyse each step of the project design process." explains Xavier Pecquet, Executive Director Key Accounts & Partnerships at Sopra Steria.

This ideation space will be structured around 6 areas of expertise:

  • Digital Interaction: including augmented reality, virtual reality and mixed reality as well as all aspects of the user experience and ubiquitous interactions.
  • Blockchain: allowing secure transactions and contributing to traceability
  • Digital Enables: bringing together the latest Cloud and DevOps innovations
  • Smart Machine: integrating image recognition and chatbot technologies
  • IoT et Automation: regarding connected objects, geolocation and digital twin.
  • Data Science: including Big Data, data analysis and predictive maintenance.
"We are very pleased to be partnering with Sopra Steria. The group's recognised expertise in Europe
will enable us to adapt innovative technologies to meet the new challenges of our sector. In addition,
