The future of IT in Telecom: which strategy for the evolution of information systems? by Matthieu Lemoine

| minute read

The telecoms market in Europe has been severely shaken over the past ten years: revenues have fallen by 17%, ARPU has dropped by half on mobile telephony, new Over The Top players are competing (e.g. Netflix, Google, Facebook), more than 20 mergers and acquisitions have been completed...

With the decline in business models based on tradition-al connectivity services, operators today face a major transformation challenge, to find new growth drivers: di-versification of digital services, development of the IoT, acceleration of very high-speed networks, globalisation of offers, 5G, network virtualisation... In an increasingly digital world, these transformations cannot be achieved without an ambitious and proactive approach on information systems.

This book aims to analyse the evolution trends of tele-com operators in Europe, and sets out the induced fun-damental orientations on information systems. It then discusses implementation strategies and key success factors.
