Sopra Steria joins the Positive AI initiative to promote responsible AI

| minute read

Paris, 27 January 2025 - Sopra Steria, a major player in the European tech sector, today announced that it has joined the Positive AI association, a leading Do Tank dedicated to promoting responsible practices in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and analysing the societal impact of this technology. By joining this initiative last October and then renewing this commitment for 2025, Sopra Steria is reaffirming its commitment to AI that benefits society and respects human values.

Created in 2022, the Positive AI association brings together companies of all sizes and sectors, united to co-construct a responsible, concrete and applicable AI. This approach comes against a backdrop of preparations for European AI legislation (AI Act), a regulatory framework that imposes strict rules to frame high-risk applications of artificial intelligence.

"Our membership of Positive AI is fully in line with our strategy to promote ethical, transparent and sustainable AI", says Yves Nicolas, Director of the Sopra Steria Group's AI Programme. "As a key player in digital transformation, committed for many years to the development of responsible AI and with more than 4,000 AI specialists, we are determined to actively contribute to the development of responsible practices that ensure a long-term positive impact on society."

This membership reinforces Sopra Steria's historical commitment to responsible AI, as demonstrated by its active participation since2020 in the Confiance.ai programme and its recent signature of the AI Pact. These initiatives are fully in line with Sopra Steria's internal programme dedicated to AI, launched more than a year ago, which aims to transform the company in depth while supporting the digital transformation of its customers and partners on a European scale. It also reflects Sopra Steria's desire to play a key role in the development of sovereign and sustainable AI, meeting the expectations of users and regulators.
