The Famous Project CIC and its technology partner Sopra Steria launch the official application for the Jules Verne Trophy record attempt.

Brest, 25 November 2025 - With just a few days to go before the start of the Jules Verne Trophy, The Famous Project CIC is unveiling its official application, designed and developed by Sopra Steria, a major player in European technology and the project's technology partner. This innovation will enable all sailing and adventure enthusiasts to follow in real time the world record attempt led by Alexia Barrier's international, all-female crew. By joining forces with The Famous Project CIC, Sopra Steria is using its digital expertise to enhance the performance, safety and sharing of this extraordinary human and technological adventure.

A unique application to follow the crew's progress in real time

Available from today on iOS and Android, The Famous Project CIC app offers a totally immersive experience. You can follow the boat's position live, find out about performance and sailing conditions, as well as access portraits of the female sailors and behind-the-scenes information about life on board. Users will also find exclusive content and scientific data collected throughout the circumnavigation. It's a unique way to experience the Jules Verne Trophy up close to the crew, from their phone or tablet.

"We're very proud to be launching this application on the eve of our departure. Thanks to Sopra Steria, technology has become a real team player, helping us to sail more efficiently and share our adventure with the whole world." Alexia Barrier, founder and skipper of The Famous Project CIC.

A technology partner at the heart of a comprehensive performance and safety system

Sopra Steria has mobilised its expertise in software engineering, data and artificial intelligence to provide The Famous Project CIC with a complete digital ecosystem to serve the boat and its crew.  At the heart of the system is a hypervision system based on Crimson technology, developed by CS Group (a Sopra Steria subsidiary), which monitors the boat in real time and consolidates all available data.

This information is hosted on a secure cloud platform that centralises the technical, health and oceanographic data collected during the race. Artificial intelligence tools analyse this data to anticipate maintenance and assist navigation. A nutritional data collection system also completes the system, enabling the crew's health to be monitored continuously, both during the preparation phase and throughout the race.

Finally, in partnership with the start-up Galeio, a solution for detecting icebergs and floating objects will enhance the boat's safety in the most exposed areas. It's an unprecedented system that illustrates the meeting of high technology, sporting performance and team spirit.

"With just a few days to go to the start, our teams are experiencing this adventure with the same impatience and energy as the crew. We are proud that the technologies designed by Sopra Steria are contributing to the boat's performance and safety, while enabling the general public to follow this exceptional race in real time," explains Mohammed Sijelmassi, Chief Technology Officer, Sopra Steria.
