The Group implements community initiatives through two foundations, in France and in India. Since 2001 and thanks to the Group’s backing and employee volunteers, the Sopra Steria-Institut de France Foundation supports charity projects using digital technology to advocate community and environmental causes. For its part, the Sopra Steria India Foundation fights poverty and promotes education for underprivileged youth, especially young girls. This programme provides assistance in the form of skills development, infrastructure, and computer equipment in schools, as well as financing for the Scholarship Programme supported by fund raising initiatives across several Group countries.

Since 2015, this advisory body has provided external feedback on the Group’s approach to corporate responsibility. It currently comprises five external experts: Patrick Bourdet, founder of Areva Med and executive consultant; Jan Corfee-Morlot, expert in environmental and climate issues previously employed with the OECD and the IPCC; Mark Maslin, Professor of Climatology at University College London; Frédéric Tiberghien, honorary member of France’s Council of State, Chairman of FAIR, and ORSE; and Marie-Ange Verdickt, company director working with institutions that champion social development.
